Dealer Info Gives Us More Info On The New Chassis Cab Line:

New Trim Levels For 2019 Model Year...

Yesterday, while everyone was watching the 2019 Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty make their debut at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, HDRams.com got their hands on some dealer information released to dealers from Ram about the Ram 3500/4500/5500 Chassis Cab models.

While the Ram 2500 and 3500 models carry trim levels like Tradesman and Big Horn/Lone Star that will not be the case for the 2019 model year on the Chassis Cabs. For 2019, there will be four models available ST, SLT, Laramie and Limited for 3500 (DD) Chassis Cab and 4500/5500 (DP) Chassis Cab. Currently, the 2018 models offer three trim levels.

For the 3500 Chassis Cab models, Ram has made volume projection for the 2019 model year.  Ram suggest that 90% of all 3500 Chassis Cab models ordered will be the entry-level ST trim. That will be followed by the SLT trim level with 5% of the production volume. The top of the line Limited is predicted to make up 3%, while and Laramie is projected to be 2% of the total volume.

Ram predicts that 80% of the 3500 Chassis Cabs will be optioned with a 4×4 drivetrain. The take on a Cummins powered model is predicted to be 73% for the 2019 model year.

Unlike the pickup versions of the Ram 2500 and 3500, Ram does not have any volume predicts on cab configurations for the Chassis Cabs.

When it comes to the Ram 4500/5500 Chassis Cabs for the 2019 model year, the numbers are vastly different in the powertrain predictions. Ram projects that 93% of the 4500/5500 models will come equipped with Cummins power, compared to only 7% being powered by a HEMI engine.

Projections also show that 75% of the 4500/5500 Chassis Cab models will more than likely come with a 4×4 drivetrain.

With the trim levels, the projections are pretty close to the 3500 Chassis Cab, with 88% of volume expected to be an entry-level ST model, 7% being a SLT, 3% being a top of the line Limited model and the 2% of the 4500/5500 Chassis Cab models consisting of the Laramie trim.

While dealers are able to order the new trucks immediately, there will not be pricing available with it. Instead, dealers will be able to order inventory which will be built at the Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant in Saltillo, Mexico. Although according to our sources, the Chassis Cab models won’t begin full production until June.
