CAUGHT: 2019 Ram 2500 Tradesman Power Wagon:

The More Affordable Off-Road Variant Of The Ram Heavy Duty Has Been Spotted...

The other day, we showed you pictures of the upcoming 2019 Ram 2500 Power Wagon. While we received a lot of a positive feedback in our e-mail here on HDRams.com, we also got a ton of e-mail on our sister sites 5thGenRams.com and MoparInsiders.com asking if there would be a more affordable Tradesman version of the new Power Wagon. We can now officially answer those questions with a YES!

Our friend Brian Williams, caught the new 2019 Ram 2500 Tradesman Power Wagon not too far away from the Chrysler Technical Center (CTC) in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

This new Ram 2500 Tradesman Power Wagon still has some thrills, but is mostly all-business. This particular Tradesman Power Wagon is still carrying a 12,000-lb. capacity Warn electric winch up in the front bumper. We also see that the popular 17-inch aluminum wheels with matte black pockets are being carried over for the new model year. This  new Power Wagon, is wearing the same new flares that the Power Wagon we showed you the other day has (styled from the 2017 Ram Power Wagon Macho Concept).

Our sources say that the Tradesman Power Wagon and Power Wagon will still be powered by the 6.4-liter HEMI V8. Yes, no Cummins power as of yet. However, the a new ZF-sourced Heavy Duty 8-speed automatic transmission is said to be a welcome addition to the new Power Wagon lineup. We still expect the 4.10 rear axle ratio will still be there for the new model year.

Of course, the new Tradesman-version of the Power Wagon is wearing chrome front and rear bumpers. Unlike the Tradesman model we showed you yesterday, this Tradesman Power Wagon is wearing the standard halogen headlamps, tail lights and fog lights from the Tradesman trim lineup.

The new 2019 Ram Heavy Duty goes into production in January, at FCA’s Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant in Saltillo, Mexico. The first trucks will be showing up on dealer lots around mid-March.
