Back at the end of June, we told you about the intentions of the Ram Truck brand releasing an all-black version of its top-tier Limited trim on its Heavy Duty lineup. Thanks to our staff, we found the truck as a configurable option on the Build & Price configurator on RamTrucks.com. It took Ram to officially announce the truck just over a week ago. Now, we are seeing the new Heavy Duty Limited Black models arriving in dealer’s inventories.
The 2020 Ram Heavy Duty Limited Black stands out with subtlety, courtesy of the black accents, including grille with R-A-M letters, door handles, side-view trailer tow mirrors, tow hooks, headlight, and taillight bezels. Single rear-wheel (SRW) models come standard with 20-inch black wheels while dual-rear-wheel (DRW) models feature 17-inch black wheels with machined eyelets.
The Ram Heavy Duty Limited Black models are available in both rear-wheel-drive (4×2) and four-wheel-drive (4×4). Powertrain choices are, of course, the 6.4-liter HEMI® V-8, 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel I-6, or the 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel I-6 High Output engine (exclusive to the 3500).
The Ram 2500 link-coil suspension delivers the industry’s best ride and handling and can be enhanced with the addition of an optional rear air suspension system with two driver-selectable ride heights and load-leveling feature. Ram 3500 also offers the industry’s only supplemental rear airbag system with Hotchkiss leaf springs.
The Ram Heavy Duty Limited Black has a U.S. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $62,745. The 2500 and 3500 Limited Black models shown above are currently in-stock at University Dodge in Davie, Florida.
