Anyway, I had plans to paint a few items on the truck so now it’s a few more. Not sure I can do anything about the interior roof and window frames
I can totally understand your frustration as the package details aren't the most clear things on earth. Once you read the details and look at a few in person it makes sense though. I know this doesn't help you now, and I imagine this is already something you will do, but with any of these options where you can't clearly/easily tell in pictures, I always call and ask before making the drive.I screwed up and a little pissed.
I bought the truck last may from a dealer in Bama. I’m in Florida but got the 3500 Laramie I wanted for 72k out the door. Chose no night package but the option for the bumper painted to match.
Well didn’t realize the chrome area around the grill and for some dumb **** reason dodge sent a black interior/gunmetal exterior truck to me with a tan ****ing interior roof. How in the hell is that even an option? Even the salesman didn’t know that was going to come like that.
Package | Bumper | Headliner | Badges, Grille, headlights, etc. |
---|---|---|---|
No package - base model | Chrome (except tradesman, which is black) | Tan | Chrome |
Body color bumper group | Painted | Tan | Chrome |
Chrome appearance group | Chrome | Tan | Chrome (adds chrome tow hooks) |
Sport appearance package | Painted | Black | Chrome |
Night edition | Painted | Black | Black |
Laramie Sport also gets the black headliner. Don’t think I can go back.I think the night editions and the limiteds are the ones that come with the black headliner. It I could be wrong.
Sport also gets painted grill surround. So a little less chrome and the likely easier to source/swap part of the grill is what would be changed.I can totally understand your frustration as the package details aren't the most clear things on earth. I really wish that these auto manufactures would streamline the process for ordering a truck. I understand, although not first hand, the complexity of these systems. That said, the way packages work will never be something I understand. The difference in price between the sport package and body color bumper group is $600. I can't imagine there are a huge number of people who are so price conscious that they couldn't/wouldn't spring for the sport and if they are, well that is why you get a default chrome option.

Ah, yes that is a good callout, I sort of grouped that with the bumpers but it is a different item.Laramie Sport also gets the black headliner. Don’t think I can go back.

Apparently in '21 they started giving all trucks black headliners. I sure wasn't expecting it on my truck but was happy to see it.Wish I had black headliner on my poverty trim truck
That's correct. Starting with the '21MY (at least in the two lower trim levels with both the black and black/diesel gray interiors) they did away with the light frost headliner and pillar trim and replaced it with black.Apparently in '21 they started giving all trucks black headliners. Sport will too. It’s the main reason I wanted sport- I could not handle 3 different interior color clashes!I think the night editions and the limiteds are the ones that come with the black headliner. It I could be wrong.
Yea I have a 2022 and that didn’t work out for me. Essays at the factory were not happy that day I guessApparently in '21 they started giving all trucks black headliners. I sure wasn't expecting it on my truck but was happy to see it.

I just received the parts above but I believe Grille:68443251AA is for the mounted camera because the grille inserts fit but the Ram letters 68358570aa do not fit on this grille.
Can anyone confirm the part number for the night edition grille without the camera.

rupert, nice ride!!I just got my 2023 2500 Laramie, night edition. The night edition now costs $3900. Luckily the dealership had dropped the price of the truck down to it's base price. Also the factory night addition give you the sport hood, which I really like the look of.+
wanted to chime in here and provide part numbers for anyone looking to do this as i'm currently in the process.
I have a 2022 Laramie without sunroof and here are the interior parts i've ordered so far to get all black interior.
My list is incomplete because i'm still trying to figure out which grille applique I need to order, and if I wanted to go with black or painted bumpers. I have the chrome package right now and am working to delete almost all of it. hope this list helps.
