Ah ok, thanks! And you’re right, now that you mention it I recall reading this exact question a month ago, and then totally forgot about it.

And you are the winner of our monthly contest to see who asks.

That is the cover you put on when you remove your tailgate. Drop your tailgate and in the middle you will see a black cover...on the bottom of the bed...remove that when you remove tailgate, and put the pictured cover in its place

We get asked this often, especially at the 5th Gen Rams. I tried to make it a sticky before...but people are very curious about this cover...which is unchanged overall since 2009.

If you have the auxiliary switches you should have another bag and you should have a reciever reducer to make the 2.5inch a 2 inch.

I just bought a 2019 Power Wagon. In the back seat were a few bags of parts, most of which pertaining to the winch. I can't figure out what this might be for.

Any ideas?

Does it cancel out a signal to a sensor or something?

It just protects the connectors on the truck side of the harnesses for the tailgate. If you open your tailgate and look at the center of the bed, you'll see where it would go.

Thanks. I'll find a small box to store it before I end up breaking it

When I picked up my truck there was a small bag on the rear seat, it was late and I was tired and I was told this was for towing...
Any input to where this fits and what it does would be appreciated. Sorry if a dumb question but my 1500 didn't need anything extra! I also didn't find this searching google so want to know if needed or what it does since optional

Question gets asked monthly.

It is for when you remove tailgate. You unhook the connections and that goes into them to protect them and shut off their use.
If your 1500 was a 2009 to 2019 it should have had it too

Combined them all. I get a kick out of this question.

It is hard to search, but both 5th Gen Rams and here have the question asked often.

Wish dealerships would explain stuff to owners.

Thank you, seems obvious now, although now I should question why I never had one on my 1500 (2012) which was also new... I should have searched just didn't know what to search for! :)
