Yeah, you should have. It is a legitimate question. It sure looks inportant... but if you never take the tailgate off it is just in the way lol

yeah, just sign here and go away seems to be the dealer approach after making you wait 3-4 hours so you lose interest in asking!

A word of caution. I used this plug when removing my tailgate to install a LED light system ( mounted above bumper and under the tailgate). All worked fine but when I reconnected the tailgate and closed the tailgate to see how things fit I did not reconnect the electrical plug to the tailgate. If you do this, the tailgate will "lock" and there is no way to open without removing the cover plate on the tailgate.
So if you use this adapter plug when removing the tailgate.. remember to always reconnect the wiring when to put the tailgate back on (and before before closing the tailgate)... cost $180 for a dealer to open the tailgate.

I would have thunk the dealer or warranty would have helped you out on that one. Looks like a design flaw! I haven’t read that part of the manual but if it doesn’t reference a different procedure than what you did it should be on them. Maybe the dealerships should go over this instead of showing how to turn on the radio

Glad this got a bump. Now i don't have to ask what it is.
I even took the truck in to get service a week after purchase. The service guy said he'd take a look, when I told him there were parts in the seat. Never said a word to me about it. Just moved them when he got in the truck, and I was standing right there.

About every month to month and a half either here or 5th Gens someone asks.

I just seen it asked at another ram forum and they linked us lol.

I added one of the part numbers on the bag to the title, so hopefully it will show up in a search.

Hmmm... I didn't get this part, nor the bag of goodies for the aux switches. Nor did I have a jack or floor mats in the truck when I got it (brand new, of course). The only thing that was in the truck was the 2.5" to 2" receiver adapter. Probably no one at the dealership knew what it was and just left it in the truck. Anything else that wasn't screwed down seems to have walked away. (Although the jack *is* supposed to be screwed down!) The dealer has ordered a jack and floor mats for me, as they couldn't find *any* on any truck on the lot, so someone had gone through and systematically stripped the vehicles, it seems. I've now pointed out that these last two items (the connector cover and the aux switch bag) are also missing. I was wondering what I could do with the aux switches without any additional hardware...

I hope you're holding your dealer accountable for the all missing items.

No jack? that's insane.

Yup. It is insane, I agree. This is the first time I've purchased a vehicle with this much missing. @FCA: maybe vehicles should come with a list of the items that *should* be in the vehicle. For example, I didn't know about either of these last two items (connector cover and harness for the aux switches). Had someone taken the hitch adapter I wouldn't have known about it, either. Thankfully there are fora like this one!!! You guys (and gals!) pointed me in the direction of the build sheet, where I did determine that floor mats should have been included. However, for some reason, although the build sheet has things like "Spring - Left Front" it doesn't list the jack...

Hmmm....I've got several bags of wires and connectors for the AUX switches and VSIM module but I don't think I've seen one of these. I've been robbed. :)

Here are some pictures of the items that came in a big clear plastic bag in the back seat area of my truck. I have VSIM and Auxiliary Switches. I also have all the Jack parts and Owners and Uconnect manuals. I wonder if your Detail/Prep guy left them out?

Did anyone get the front license plate bracket? Looks like mine came with everything but that.

Yeah, I did, including, of course, the temporary cardboard CA license plate, which, by the way, expired 3 days ago. Just now I got an email from FedEx about a package on its way from AVRS in Petaluma. Apparently they work with the DMV, so maybe my new plates are on their way! Woohoo!

Mine was already on front bumper, there supposed to add that or not based on your state of residency on order form
