I have 3 open recalls. Kinda nervous about taking it in because I read on Tech Authority they could be deactivating the tire fill alert feature too and what else can they mess up on?

Does anyone else have this bed step brace?
But of course! Everyone that had a bed step factory installed (or dealer/self installed) on a 19 or 20 HD has this brace. I'd be concerned with the self install crowd that doesn't frequent forums such as this and are potentially at risk of severe injury.

Not the TFA too! Ironically, I posted on another thread about the TFA not working on my new truck. I followed the video instructions to the tee and can't get it to give the hazard light/audio alert when filling the tires. Where's the link from Tech Auth on the TFA deactivation?

I just saw this step recall and one for the radio / camera on the Ram Owners website for my truck. Here is a screen shot of the information posted:

Well I took my '20 3500 back to the dealership today so they could deal with the bed step issue.
They corrected the problem by removing it from the truck.
When I asked when they would replace it I got the answer that I expected " I don't know".

The problem that I had was that they let me take delivery of it on the 15th when they should have removed it first.
The tech told me that they have to photograph the truck with the bed step removed in order to satisfy the recall.

I've only used the step once when I installed it. The back of my truck has been full of stuff we picked up on boxing day, lol. I haven't even open the tailgate since then.

That sucks and I’m sorry it happened to you. When did you get out of jail? I would have lost my freaking mind and probably would have been arrested.

381 miles on the truck. I was pissed but remained civil. I am a much calmer person since getting my CCW. ;-)

It's gonna cost them something for my time. I also want to know what they found on the security footage as the tech and lot monkey both claimed innocence. I have a feeling another customer or delivery driver may have hit it.

I'll probably ask for a free oil or fuel filters change. Heck, maybe both.

That sux,. The step works fine if you ensure it's loaded vertically. Mine has endured this 200 pounder dozens of times. I also don't let it snap back on its own when stowing - just keep some pressure on it until it locks up into place.

Some large men are side loading/leveraging this step.

I just make sure my large self steps ON the step, not leveraging against the side of it.

I bought a new, 2019 RAM 2500 Mega Cab this weekend without the bed step. So, I'm looking for a bed step and I'm partial to the Mopar, integrated stop styl. I've found several part numbers (82215842AC, ...AD, ...AE) for the Mopar bed step. But, with the recall, I'm reluctant to buy them. Can RamCares (or anyone else) confirm the post-recall part number for the bed step and whether it is or is not currently available? Thanks
